David was a keen pilot and would often go flying over Stoughton. I (John C.) was lucky enough to fly with him several times. He made me keep a look out for other planes nearby which he called "bandits" never a dull moment! He was a very good pilot, very methodical, he had a distinctive style and would 'wag' his wings as he flew over Brooksby.
